Finally was able to go to the Pasir Ris mangrove swamp this morning with 305 for CIP after it was postponed two weeks ago due to inclement weather. Today's weather is cloudy, let's hope it will hold fine. The class was all excited about the trip and well-prepared for it.
It was an exhilarating experience learning about the different types of roots (pencil, kneed and prop roots)of the mangrove and the diversity of life in the mangrove swamp. Besides spotting many different birds and animals - kingfisher, dog-face snake, mudskipper, crabs etc, the pupils also did their part in preserving the mangrove by clearing pong pong seeds and other litter. It was definitely an enjoyable day well-spent bonding as a class and learning about the importance of conservation of the mangroves.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT51exDllzQto1wjKpE4NNKzkS3bRMNo6Wv0PzVmYEGnggkZb0tqZgwL1j7kiPWTf-GYM9rIS3JNBWA4GheT0y-zX80YfjUM0eHMOYrFqBc2O64EXwsnyh_oV8ph7Oh7SVsFh4hsf7Qkt_/s320/IMG_0904.JPG)
